Quadrant I: These are sellers
who are the LEAST CREATIVE but sell A TON of PHYSICAL
PRODUCTS (product that must be bought, packaged,
shipped etc.) on eBay. These "powersellers"
are working the hardest, making decent money,
but they basically have an eBay JOB. They are
VERY TIED to eBay. They are trading dollars for
hours as my buddy Tim Knox said.
Quadrant II: There are sellers who sell
a few items on eBay and make a little money in
a tiny niche, but they are not tapping into the
powerful creative concepts (such as the ideas
found at SilentSalesMachine.com) that can take
a part-time effort
and create HUGE results. These people are CLOSE
to great results...they aren't COMPLETELY TIED
to eBay yet, and that's sometimes a good thing
as I'll explain in a moment.
Quadrant III: These are the NICHE DOMINATORS
as I like to call them. These are the sellers
on eBay who have found a way to dominate a COMMON
or POPULAR niche. For example the seller who sells
the most Music CD's on eBay or the most computer
monitors etc. These sellers have locked out competitors
at many levels based on better pricing, better
listings and better service. These sellers are
hard to compete with.
But...these sellers are VERY tied to eBay. You'll
often find these sellers bragged on in eBay endorsed
magazines with million dollar eBay businesses.
We are all VERY
impressed (honestly I am), but again, these sellers
are often so tied to eBay that they can't take
a vacation or they have to hire a large staff
to run the operation.
That's okay for some, but it's not my favorite
arrangement.
Quadrant IV: Finally, saving the best
for last we have those who are the most CREATIVE
and LEAST AFRAID to use eBay as the amazing marketing
tool that it is. These sellers are having the
most success online working the fewest hours and
making a KILLING. You'll find them flying "under
the radar". They have very little or NO competition,
No long hours, NO HUGE lists of auctions running
at once, and no (or VERY LITTLE) shipping, returns,
non-paying bidders etc.
It's unlikely that you have EVER read about these
Quadrant IV sellers in an "eBay success story"
magazine article.
My goal is to help sellers see that the eBay
opportunity is much more than a quest for QUADRANT
I (the busy powersellers with a tough fulltime
eBay selling JOB).
The lesson? Learn to "break away" from
eBay reliance and use eBay as a TOOL, not a FINAL
DESTINATION. I call this "eBay ABANDON".
Note to eBay: I LOVE YOU, but I don't
NEED you! :0)
How can you make this transition into creatively
using eBay for maximum profits and minimal efforts?
Well... that's what my book "The
Silent Sales Machine Hiding on eBay"
is all about!
Where am I in this quadrant scheme? I'm in Q4.
Where are you? More importantly, where would you
like to be?
